RTE 50 kVA: Stationary emergency power generator for commerce and agriculture in the video
Andreas TendyckThe problem: A medium-sized commercial enterprise, a dairy farm, or a small-scale data center needs more than just a few power outlets in the event of a power failure. It needs a system that can support the entire operation – for hours at a time, completely unattended.
The generator in the video
The RTE 50 kVA is the model we supply most frequently. The reason is its power class: 40 kW covers most businesses where refrigeration, pumps, and lighting must run simultaneously, without entering the price range of 75 or 100 kVA systems.
Key specifications
- 50 kVA / 40 kW, 400 V / 77 A, Ricardo diesel engine ZH4105ZD
- 99-liter tank, up to 8.5 hours at 75% load, consumption approx. 11.2 l/h
- 3 × 230 V (16 A) and 1 × 400 V (32 A)
- ATS module: starts automatically in the event of a power failure, switches back in a controlled manner when grid power returns
- Sound-attenuated, water-cooled, approx. 70 dB(A) at 7 m
What the Ricardo engine means
Ricardo is a British engineering firm, founded in 1915, which developed one of the first practical high-speed diesel engines with the Comet combustion chamber system – originally for London buses. The engines in the RTE generators are manufactured under this license to high-volume quality standards. This is not some obscure technology: spare parts are available, and the engines are designed for continuous operation.
Before you buy: Sizing and installation
We always clarify two questions in advance. First, the power output – the calculator on the product page takes into account the starting currents of motors, which are not listed on the nameplate. Second, the integration into your facility’s electrical system: while the ATS module is pre-installed, the connection to the distribution board must be handled by a qualified electrician.
To ensure the generator is ready to run as soon as it is delivered, we offer an initial startup service before shipping: filling with oil, coolant, and approximately 30 liters of fuel, setting the idle speed, load testing, and providing a report – all carried out at our facility in Kempen before the freight carrier arrives.
