Kurz gesagt: Eine Kehrmaschine nimmt trockenen Grobschmutz auf – Staub, Sand, Laub, Späne. Eine Scheuersaugmaschine reinigt nass: Sie trägt Wasser und Reinigungsmittel auf, löst den Schmutz mechanisch und saugt das Schmutzwasser sofort wieder ab.
Beide ersetzen einander nicht. Wo trockener Grobschmutz anfällt, verschmiert eine Scheuersaugmaschine ihn nur; wo hygienische Sauberkeit gefordert ist, reicht Kehren nicht aus. Viele Betriebe fahren deshalb beides – im Außenbereich die Kehrmaschine, in der Halle die Scheuersaugmaschine.
