Yes, provided it is swept regularly. From just a few hundred square meters, a walk-behind machine like the DAS30 replaces the broom and cleans without raising dust – with a 40 cm sweeping width, 22-liter container, and 3 to 3.5 hours of run time. A ride-on machine is not yet worth it at this scale.

As soon as sweeping is required outdoors all year round – in depots, parking lots, or municipal areas. Without weather protection, cleaning is often postponed in practice due to rain, cold, and wind, rendering even the highest area performance useless. The KM160-PRO offers a protective roof, while the KM180-PRO features an enclosed cabin. From about 3,000 m² onwards, this criterion weighs more heavily than the actual surface area.

Because the price premium cannot be justified by surface area alone. The KM80-PRO takes around 70 minutes for 5,000 m², the KM180-PRO around 30 – at more than double the purchase price. The larger class becomes worthwhile when cleaning is performed multiple times a day or weather protection is required.

This depends on the amount of dirt. The ratio of volume to operating time serves as a benchmark: the KM80-PRO provides about 27 liters of debris container capacity and only about 3 liters of dust-binding water per operating hour, while the larger models provide 32–48 liters of container capacity and 24–32 liters of water. For the DAS30, the 22-liter container is the bottleneck. On dry, highly dusty outdoor surfaces, refilling during the operation should be planned for with the KM80-PRO.
